Doctor Who Says Farewell to Rose Tyler, Hello to Martha Jones

The finale of the second season of Doctor Who aired in the UK recently, and Rose Tyler was given an appropriately sappy sendoff. Taking her place will be Martha Jones, played by a newcomer, Freema Agyeman. Agyeman had a small part in the season finale as a different character, but I won’t give away what happens to her if you are in the US and haven’t had a chance to watch the latest season yet.
Agyeman is a stunningly gorgeous woman of African descent, with a more elegant, upper class presence than what Billie Piper portrayed with Rose Tyler. It will be interesting to see what her character will be like.
As for Rose Tyler…I was getting a bit sick of her being all googly-eyed for a man 900 years older than she was, and the show was getting a bit too wrapped up in her personal issues. So while I didn’t despise her, I’m not crying in my soup that she’s leaving either.

nothing wrong with going after a man 900 years older than her… lets face it, if that was the criteria for the companion, Anna Nicole Smith would have been on it a long time ago….
I watched the latest series *cough* with only a days delay and the way they got rid of Rose was different. It has been a great series, new doctor and all and there are still moments that I find scary, and yet I refused to watch from behind the sofa.

GAH! Is Rose disappearing!? No way! *growl* I really like her, not to mention her mother…they are funny! Does Rose die? And how can somebody be replaced just like that? This is serious! *gnawing my knuckles and giggling hysterically*

I can not believe that Rose had gone. I cried when I saw the last episode. It was really emotional. The doctor really did love her. And she did realy love the doctor. I want her to come back for a special episode.
