The 4400 on DVD

I’m belatedly getting around to watching The 4400 on DVD. I’m actually surprised at how good the show is so far (but I’ve only watched two episodes). One niggling plot annoyance: I hardly think that any father would be able to file a successful restraining order against the mother of his child. I don’t care that she was whisked away by aliens for 10 years! And why is she just sitting there and taking it instead of getting her own lawyer? This is bad writing in what is otherwise a good show.
My feeling is, if you are going to do a “realistic” sci-fi show that is set in the modern world, then you better make the real world damn believable so that the sci-fi sticks.
