I Love The 4400 Theme Song…So What’s Your Favorite Sci-Fi Theme Song?
By stephanie - Wednesday, August 9th, 2006
The theme song for The 4400 is just fantastic. So I came up with an idea. I am going to start compiling some “Top Twenty” lists for Closet Sci-Fi Geek. Why 20 and not the usual 10? Well…why not?
So what are your favorite sci-fi theme songs? I will be doing lists for both television and movies. Thanks!

This maybe more of a paranormal (than scifi) show theme, but I loved theme for the 2003 show, Miracles starring Skeet Ulrich. It was composed by Robert J. Kral who also did the theme for Angel.

Call me old fashioned, but three favourites which come to mind are: Star Wars, Blade Runner and Doctor Who (the earlier ones).

I love the 4400 theme, BSG (new) and Firefly are great.
Also any of the Star trek themes (except the crappy enterprise song) and the Xfiles is pretty good too.

The original Star Trek theme is classic (as are the X-Files and Dr. Who themes) but, as a song, I think the theme song for “firefly” is tops. The new BSG also has great music throughout, which really complements the series.

I love the 4400 theme song too and have been trying like crazy to download it someplace. Itunes doesn’t even have it and everyone else wants me to join for a certain amount per month to get it. I’d like to replace AOL’s Welcome wav with that.
Other songs I like are House (Not SciFi I know) and Eureka’s song just because it’s so old small towny.

The House theme song is actually the background to a Massive Attack song. I don’t remember the name of it actually, but there are actual lyrics and everything.

The house theme song is called “Tear Drop” by massive attack. You can get it off iTunes. I was searching for the Eureka theme song a couple hours ago and I found that if you google “Eureka theme song” some guy actually posted it on a blog for you to download. Hope this helps… Oh and the X-Files theme song is definitely my favorite.

PainKiller Jane is a new SciFi show that has prompted me to have “Land of Confusion” by Disturbed on my playlist. I got it off iTunes.

Battlestar Galactica – Original, Star Trek TNG, 4400, Star Wars.
See a trend?

This one is a bit obscure, but I just LOVE the theme from UFO, the british series by Gerry “Thunderbirds” Anderson. It’s like retro spy cool from the sixties blended with up-tempo Esquivel. You can hear a sample here: http://tinyurl.com/22le5q (amazon.com)

You can Download an extended version of A Place in Time on LimeWire. Enjoy.

P. S. I’m out of the closet. I’m eaten up with Sci-Fi and I don’t care who knows it.

I always liked the theme tune to the British TV series Red Dwarf, even the full 5 min version. At the moment I’m loving the Eureka tune, just cant get it out of my head.

My favorites are the opening for Earth-Final Conflict and the 4400.

Battlestar original is awesome, Red Dwarf is good, Dr. Who new, Firefly is probably my favorite, Fringe is great, short, but great, and Voyager.

I really love the theme songs to star wars, star trek, Buck Rogers in the 25th century, and Battlestar Galactica.

I love the 4400 theme song too! But the Buffy theme is my personal favourite!

Well, I see no mention of the Farscape themes song. But the Buck Rogers theme song was great as well.
