No, I prefer the original as well. Some people don’t understand the value of kitsch.

I don’t know, I kind of like it since it is “cleaned” up nicely. I’m just glad they didn’t just redesign the ship with computeres and change it all. I guess it goes to show how “important” Trek is in the history of TV that they would bother doing this at all. Now if they re-do the original Battlestar Galactica then you can strike that importance comment!

I love. Many of the scenes that were remastered would have been beter in the orignal series but for bugetery constraints. The plots are remastered so why all the complaing

I’m happy. The stories and the characters are the most important parts. STTOS technology is nostalgic but at this point ask any kid who grew up after CGI and it’s almost laughably stupid.
As long as they never completely hide away the originals, and they leave the “spirit” of the show intact in the modernized episodes, a fresh take isn’t bad. I wouldn’t mind seeing intelligent looking consoles instead of Lite-Brites all over the bridge. Would anyone cry a lot if they “remastered” away those horribly dated Commodore 64 graphics on the original Transwarp drive? In my opinion they could have gone a lot further. I have a feeling if we all like it this time around, they will.. Next stop in 10 years is probably a complete CGI re-rendering, actors and all.

…okay it does look cooler…but it’s not the original. Am I just an inflexible person?
