Ghost Rider…Ouch
Love Nicolas Cage…but what was up with that horrible movie Ghost Rider? That was downright embarrassing. It would have been much much worse without Cage in it though…hope there’s no sequel.

List of Shows Affected by the Strike
I fully support the writer’s strike, but I’m sad to hear there will only be nine episodes of Pushing Daisies this season now because of it. (Happy to hear that Reaper will have all 13 episodes and Supernatural is mostly done.) I am tearing my hair out over Lost, especially!!
The LA Times has a list of shows and how they are affected by the strike.

Friday Night Dresden Files Virtual Sit-In
Seems like this is the time for TV activism. If the Writers Guild strike is not inspiring you, perhaps you’ll want to join The Dresden Files Virtual Sit-In, organized by the Dresden renewal community. At 6:45 pm EST, fans are being asked to descend upon the SciFi.com bulletin boards to show support as they watch The Dresden Files in rerun. Understanding the Writers Guild Strike
I live in Los Angeles and I know a lot of TV writers, guys who have written for shows such as The Family Guy. I know a guy who wrote for Saturday Night Live for many years. And let me tell you something: These guys are not rich. They aren’t driving around in Ferraris, they aren’t living in huge mansions overlooking the ocean, they aren’t wearing expensive clothes. Residuals are often the only way these writers can make a decent living doing what they love.
It’s ironic to me that the studios want to give writers zero on Internet downloads, and yet they get all upset when fans download shows through file-sharing networks. Well, studios, I tell you what. You’re not giving fans much of an incentive to support your copyright, when you don’t have the cents to pay your writers properly.
Watch this video for a very clear explanation of how the writers are getting screwed by the networks on this issue:
If you are a fan and want to support the strike, check out this website for more information on what you can do. Sci-fi fans in particular have been already mobilizing. We’re the best fans, aren’t we?

Writer’s Strike!
Well, the Writers Guild of America has gone on strike. This means that a lot of productions are going to be shelved, tabled, or condensed. Already, a six-episode Heroes prequel has been dropped, and Lost’s 16-episode season may be halved.
While there’s plenty of TV cheese out there that is barely worth watching (Flash Gordon!), we do need to remember that it is the writers that create the shows. Without them, we would be stuck with reality TV and game shows.
So I support the writer’s strike - and I hope they don’t cave on this one. This is an important time for television writers. As it stands, writers are getting crap for DVD residuals, and nothing at all if a network streams a television show on the Internet! Well, someday all television shows will be streamed over the Internet. So what are these cheap-ass networks trying to do here? Set themselves up to get content for free? Gimme a break.
It’s a shame that greedy corporations are in charge of our televisions and actively work to take advantage of our creative minds. Writers are always getting the short end of the stick. We’re the ones who are constantly getting paid nothing for the very content that is the backbone of all media. Where would we be without writers? No books, no magazines, no news, no TV, no movies.
So support the Writers Guild of America - and tell the networks they need to pay their writers their fair share!
