Eli Stone and Star Trek

Whoever is casting Eli Stone apparently has a soft spot for Star Trek actors…first, I spotted Voyager’s “Neelix” a few episodes back, and yesterday I could not figure out why the earthquake scientist was so darn familiar…until I realized it was “Dr. Phlox” from Star Trek: Enterprise!

Minor trivia: I met “Neelix” once…long story, but he appeared to be one of those old school Broadway actor types who calls you “sweetie” and “honey” a lot…very funny, really.

Please Renew Eli Stone!

What started out as a bit of mindless fun has turned into a bit of an addiction for me: I need my Eli Stone! Eli Stone has just gotten progressively better and better, with just the right combination of heart, drama, goofiness, and social commentary. PLUS, if you’re lucky, you’ll get to see George Michael and even Victor Garber sing!

Paired with Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone could be part of a night of truly feel good TV. Will ABC be that smart though? I hope so. If NBC can renew that shallow travesty Lipstick Jungle (apologies to Paul Blackthorne), then ABC can renew Eli Stone, which consistently had better ratings than Lipstick Jungle, other than LJ’s ratings boost anomaly for its season finale.

Fans are already stirring up to start Eli Stone renewal campaigns…
