I’m a California new age-y kinda gal. I teach yoga, surf, write, sing, and, of course, watch sci-fi for a little downtime. I have a number of other blogs, including Green Tech Girl and Namasteph Yoga Blog. I offer wellness coaching and healing services at The Feel Good Girl.

When I was growing up, I tended to get my sci-fi and fantasy in book form. Now that special effects have caught up to our imaginations, I prefer getting my sci-fi fix on film, and I save most of my reading time for non-fiction. Some of my all-time sci-fi favorites are: Star Trek: TOS, Farscape, and the original Star Wars (I guess I go for the classics). My current obsessions are: Lost, Supernatural, and Eli Stone.

I’m a fiction engine from the frigid frontiers of the south; where the rain falls from left to right, woolly beasts prowl and howl in the desolate hills, and the hardy natives have a hundred different words for mud.

I’ve published SF/F/H short stories, and written and produced a cyberpunk musical (Fatal Error). Now I’m a professional television writer, for NZ’s ‘Shortland Street’.

And when a story of my own whispers its need to be told, I repair to the upper floors of the Gothic mansion in my head, pull some levers on the fiction engine and wait for lightning to strike so that I may animate another misshapen monster from my lunatic literary laboratory.

Larry Parrigin (LarryJP)
It all started years ago on the dusty plains of West Texas. My first exposure to the world of Sci-Fi was the far-out universe of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson set in the impossible future of 1999. From that first Eagle crash, I was hooked. “The Devil in the Dark” was my first Trek, followed closely by Logan’s Run. The movie, not the series. Heck, I watched the series, too. By the time “Star Wars” hit, I was a seasoned fan, and George Lucas’ zeitgeist swallowed me whole…hook, line, and sinker. “Warrior’s Gate” was my first brush with Who. Yes, I own a Tom Baker scarf. But who can say (or WANT to say) they own a Colin Baker jacket?

I do technical writing to pay the bills. I live in a world of commercial aviation and federal regulations by day. By night, I write for me. Cartooning is my passion, and “Gaily Forward” is my baby.

It’s all a rich tapestry. We claim aliens, robots, telepaths, teleporters, speedsters, and web-slingers. On the fringes are elves, wizards, zombies, and ghosts. It’s a magic thing, this Sci-Fi realm. And I’m proud to be one of its geeks.

NikkiNikki Douglas (mrs. kirk)
Hello, I am Nikki Douglas, aka mrs. kirk, a sci-fi geek who is unabashedly out of the closet! I have several websites, one where I make a living as a witch (for real!) at www.magickrituals.com and the other my gaming site for women at www.grrlgamer.com. You can also read about my magickal life at www.amitadragonspell.com.

I dig Star Trek (TOS), Star Wars and Philip K. Dick and plan on writing about those topics and many more.
